“ But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.”

2 Corinthians 2:14

Tammy Whiteside

Continuing The Legacy

In memory of Tammy Whiteside, her daughter and friends have established a scholarship fund in her loving memory. Tammy was very well known in the community for coaching basketball and touching young lives.

Tammy coached at the Boys & Girls Club basketball league as well as AAU. For Tammy, it was more than just basketball, it was a ministry. Tammy was very competitive and loved to win however, she aspired to build character and to teach any and every young person she came in contact with, about the love of Christ. However, it didn’t stop with the kids, she ministered to their parents as well.

Tammy was known for going to watch children she coached or just children she knew, play in their sporting events. If there was a game going on, best believe Tammy would be there if time allowed. When Tammy rededicated her life to Christ, she stated that coaching and being involved with youth was going to keep her focused. Tammy was loving and would give the shirt off her back if anyone asked.

The Tammy Whiteside Memorial Scholarship Fund is a Tax-Exempt Nonprofit Organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The purpose of the fund is to award scholarships to deserving graduating seniors from MISD, ECISD, and private schools in the area.  The fund helps those that have chosen a path to further their education and go on to be upstanding citizens of the community that may, at some point, choose to give back as well.
